What's the best way to Panasonic hpx footage into Resolve?

James Carpenter · Jan 19, 2014

Any thoughts as to a valid codec that would work in Resolve whilst upholding quality from the native Panasonic .mxf?

thanks!

You will probably have to use a third party converter to convert the MXF files to ProRes, or something Davinci will read.

Try, http://www.pavtube.com, http://www.aunsoft.com/video-converter-mac/ , there are others.

Which Panasonic codec? Off the top of my head, Panny makes cameras that shoot DVCPro HD, AVC-I, AVC-I Ultra and AVCHD.

DVCPROHD from an HPX170.

I believe that should work natively in Resolve.

I just downloaded the latest release (January 2014) and you're right, works just fine.

Thanks!
