What's the best way to color correct, After Effects or FCP?

Not sure if this has been discussed, but what do you guys think is the best way to color correct footage? I assume After Effects would have the upper hand because it can work in 16 or 32 bit, but the extra step of either rendering out from fcp to after effects or visa-versa would also sacrifice some image quality. Right now I edit with Looks in FCP6.

I prefer COLOR. That is a VERY professional interface and gives you a lot of control. Built in scopes, 16 secondary rooms, ability to monitor on an external monitor, ability to PLAY the footage to see what it looks like, Power windows...the whole 9. I'd choose that over FCP any day. Might be comparable to what some people can do in AE.

But this is akin to Da Vinci, which is an industry standard for color correction on features and TV.

Color is kind of intimidating, but I do wish to eventually learn it. Never really understood the difference between colorista and looks. Could you explain? And is moving between FCP and AE quick?

Color is great because it's very powerful once you learn it and it's also you can send an edit at the click of a button from FCP. AFX is more challenging and not specialized for grading- though it is powerful once you jump through a few hoops.
