What's that clunk?

You know, when I got my camera, I just assumed it was part of the way it was built. If it records when you hit the red button, you're good to go! :)

Rofl, this week was good. There was at least one of these every day! Lots of people buying dvx's this time of year. lol

My life is so full of unexplained noises........why question another? Did you hear that?????? Everytime someone posts to the DIY forum I get this strange clunking in my head. There it goes again!!! It's making me crazy! If I don't build that stabilized 35mm adapter skater crane jib soon the noises will never go away!

Not me - I have no trouble admitting that my heart sunk. After about 5 minutes searching on this sight, I found the answer and didn't cally Panny.

I even looked in the manual first and didn't find the explanation. To be honest, Pannasonic should address the clunk on page one of the manual - but that would take all the fun out of the DVXuser initiation!

Thanks marlene. That was a good time. I will definately have to start looking for more of those threads in the future. Maybe we can start a list of "the best of what's that clunk".

Good times, good times.

Snakes on plane.

Ya know I was actually thinking about that the other day. There's some really creative stuff on the subject. Okay....I have dibs on the book....and the screenwrite....and the movie!

Just as long as I get to play the steeley eyed detective who's gruff exterior and rough and tumble ways mask a gentle heart and longing for poetic expression.

and clogging. I wanna do my own clogging.

Ok....with words like that you can do the screenwriting......but the clogging is simply out of the question unless I get to play the part of Tammy Faye Bakker. Then you can clog while the DVX clunks and I can cry.

we need to start telling them when it clucks at you to go get some snakes, and board a plane with your DVX...then use the snakes reaction to the pressurized cabin to loosen the "refractor lens stabilizer rod" (after you insert the snake thru the tape drive)...

Y'know marlene, I appreciate you throwing in a "read the manual" line in there. Raw hazing doesn't really help anyone, but having fun with them while also working in creative ways to say "did you read the manual" can make these threads more enjoyable, and it also lets the "victim" look back and see that he should have read the manual long ago, so they can laugh at themselves too.

There was one a few months ago where the respondents must have worked in a reference to the camera's manual in at least a dozen different times in a dozen different ways. When it was revealed, "vampiresoup" was a really good sport about it. It was classic, and IMO this is the way it should be done:
