What's on your buisness card?

Yeah, I wouldn't think media. But I like the title, it's good to have a hint of levity. My wife is my business partner and I gave her the options of "boss" or "media goddess" (I suggested "*****" as well, but...). Anyway, she chose "production manager"

your business card got a hair cut

Haha! Yeah, I took the clippers to myself last August and keep forgetting to update my avatar on here. Maybe I'll pull a Sanjaya and change its 'do once a week.

Our companies are set up similar, but you be one daring man... my wife would shoot that look of a thousand needles and threaten my death if i suggested that for her card, but i do like media goddess or boss...hmm now you got me to thinking of ways to be a pain. I LOVE IT!

Digital Cinema Services..... I like that a lot, incorporates a lot without using the word "video" or "film". I may have to borrow that.....

Better do it before the SM registration goes through.
well i wasn't talking about borrowing your company's name, i just liked that description for what you do as opposed to "videographer", etc.

I always like posting something well after the original poster lost interest in their own question... you know, when what I say is irrelevant at this point. But I think about this issue from time to time. I have my own freelance video production company where I (it's just me) do basic videos like training, commercials, wedding, short docs, skate/bike vids... you know, what any of us on here can do. Then I am partners in an animation studio where I am a co-owner. Then, until one of those two makes me tons of dough, I have a full time job as the assistant director of animation at a local film company here in Utah.

I have business cards for all three. But my own business (especially because it's just me) says the name of the company, and my email and phone number under me name. That's it, logo on the front, info on the back.

The point is: If your "company" is just you, you can put whatever title you want on there, I'd go with King or Lord or Grand Moff. Or, you can just put what you do, and your name, and people won't think you're trying too hard. I mean, if I got a business card from a 15-year-old kid and it said "Executive Producer", or a list of everything he did in title form (Owner/Creator/Director/Writer/Cinematographer/Editor/Grip/Stuntman/Cook...) I'd think he was a poser. But if he told me he had his own camera and mac and could make me a cool skate video, I'd take him much more seriously.

That's all.

I don't know how common this is. But I recently worked with Media firm who had business cards similar to webdog's, but the were printed on both sides and could be cut in half, so all the information was there, but it gave you a smaller card and demonstrates some non-traditional thinking (which is probably good in a creative field.)
