Maniacs.

Looks like we were lucky! I have heard that there was only one minor injury!

Sounds like the all 4 bombs failed to detonate.

This one really sounds like an almost comically inept gang of copycat bombers. Striking inconvenience into the hearts of Londoners. These morons even copied the original bombings down to the thwarted fourth bomber that got on a bus. Somehow, I get the feeling this group had no "mastermind".

Or just a nervousness kicking in. You know, like everyone's watching everyone, so getting the bomb to go off might not be as easy...

In any case - dvxuser.com has just been promoted to Jerry's private CNN. At least it's not blocked by the firewall... yet...

I wonder where is this whole thing going to lead. I just read yesterday that the Minister of Interior of Czech Republic (did I EVER mention I was Czech? ) plans to implement some sweeping anti-terrorism legislation. That's sixteen years after we got rid of secret police spying on its citizens. Is that the end of the western democracy?

It will be interesting to watch how our societies deal with terrorist threats, and how will our civil liberties evolve from all this....

I never thought about it like this.

Yes. Personally I am not willing to give up the rights that would ensure safety. I'll take a few dead over the rights of all compromised.

Hey mmm be careful. Hope all of you stay safe.

Thanks Phil. Luckily I am just outside London.

Most people seem to be determined to carry on and ignore this as best as possible, obviously be more alert though. After 25 years with the IRA, London is no stranger to bombings. This is different though. The IRA had rules.

THX1138, 1984..... Looks like life is imitating art.

My mother grew up in the 40's and 50's and all the "duck and cover". Later in her life she resented all the propaganda our leaders spoke. One of our last conversations was about how great and bad this country is. Great because of our fore father sense of right. Bad for all the self-centered people in power now (90's), "never let them take your freedom" she said "You can do anything if you set your mind to it" We all have a the right to speak, but I DO NOT have the right to make you listen only to me.

I just hope the day comes when I can say "remember when that happen. I sure am glad things changed." NOT "Damn where's my ID pass card I need to get some bread"

Peace and long life

Police shot a suspected terrorist this morning at Stockwell station in south London. That is unusual for our police as most of them don't carry firearms.

They haven't released many details on it yet though.

I think it was Benjamin Franklin who originally said that.
