Whats going on in North Carolina?

I was talking with a coworker yesterday about more and more people moving to North Carolina these days, and interestingly enough it seems as there is a substantial amount of production people in NC. Or is it just all one big coincidence? Is there an industry attraction in NC? My main attraction is the cost of living compared to an overpopulated area like South Florida. More grass than concrete is pretty neat. :happy:
 
The largest sound stage facility outside of Hollywood is in North Carolina. And the legislature passed a 15% tax credit for productions here, so yes work has picked up substantially. Lots of features get shot here, and One Tree Hill is based here.
 
... and John Hudson! C'mon, don't leave out the Hud...

... and Greeches and Obin and Overland and ... well, a lot, because this is I believe the 10th-most-populous state, so there's lots of DVXUsers in the NC...
 
Yeah man. Georgia and NC seem to have picked up speed in this area. I shoot a lot more these days here, learning as much as I can and I am definitely heading back south ASAP.
 
What's going on is that it is the best State in the Union. Period.

Wilmington Jazz Fest, Oacrakoe lighthouse Hatteras Lighthouse Outter Banks, Duke Basketball, Durham Bulls, Bullocks Barbeque, 9th Street, Ashville & Boone, Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mountains, Pisgah National Forest ... I could go on. Wish I could join that list of DVXers living in NC. Tennessee is as close as I can get for the moment.

only problem is its tough to get a big city look on film...... Charlotte and Raleigh dont quite cut it. you gotta head to atlanta for a big city look.
 
Yeaaah boy. Atlanta looks nice and worn out.

Another thing... Los Angeles (California in general) and NY are pretty much every city in movies. Until I moved out this way and saw all the movies, I didn't realize how much I missed knowing what a Season looked like.

Prolly won't think the same when I'm freezing my arm hairs off in a few years. =P
