Hi all i shot some footage in the woods a year ago and all the actors have come back only thing(isn't there always) There is lots of snow on the FOREST floor now. Am i better off removing the snow using clone tool techniques or would i be better off adding snow to the older footage. this footage needs to match. Im using AE 6 and am a newb so sorry for this question any help is greatly appreciated! i cant reshoot .

Without seeing your shots it's hard to say which is the worse option (as neither is better). Are you able to reshoot what you shot last time and keep it all with snow on the ground? If not, you're going to need to get creative in shooting it. Use angles that don't show the ground, like closeups, and wide shots that don't tilt down. Again, not ideal but "using clone tool" to change snow to soil is not an easy thing to do on video and especially not for a newb.

decided to shoot blue screen in a warehouse ill add woods footage later for backplate. The actors never really move from one spot anyway. ill make a dirt floor set with leaves lol. Thanks everyone for your replays

If it's all supposed to be the same scene, which is why it needs to be intercut, considering it's a year later, the snow on the ground isn't the only reason I'd advise just reshooting the entire scene.
