On April 15th my band has a pretty big show coming up.
We expect there to be 300-400 people, and this would be a great opportunity to film our performance.
So far I hired one person off this board to come out and help me with this, so between him and me that's 2 DVX's.
I also know someone who has an XL-1, so we can definitely use that too. so far 3 cams.
My plan is to have 4 cameras total and my dilemma is on what to get for the last cam.
I can drive an hour 1/2 away (sacramento) to pick up a DVX and a bogen tripod for $150 ($500 deposit, but i get that back- if nothing breaks)
Orrrr, I can drive an hour to San Fran and pick up an HVX+2 p2 cards for $275.
------------pros and cons of HVX----------------
I've never used an HVX before so that's questionable, but it would be so cool to have it running at a high frame rate so when we put the footage together it would add a music video quality.
-------------------------------------------
so what would you guys do? go with something you know and trust for cheaper, but get the same type of footage, or spend a little more and get the glossy smooth slow-mo from a camera you've never used before...
