What would you do with this broken camera package?

So I am really sitting on the fence about this issue.

My DVX100a has a non fuctional LCD and viewfinder. It still records everything fine, I just have to use an external monitor. (that can get annoying)

My whole camera package has the camera, a really nice chroszeil mattebox, chroszeil support system and rods, 6 4x4 filters, 2 batteries, charger all inside custom cut pelican case.

To fix it cost around $600. There is around 80 hours on the heads. Should I take the time to fix it, and then sell it? Or just knock 600 off the price? I kinda wanna keep my matte box and rod system because I know I will never spend that kind of money on that stuff again.

basically 3 questions...

Should I sell it broken...and for how much?
Should I fix it, and sell it?
Between now, and a year from now, how much do you think a 100a will depreciate?

Always a tough situation. Unless you were looking to upgrade to an HD camera sometime in the future, I'd say there's no real reason to sell it. However, maybe you can use that 600 that it would have cost to fix and buy a real nice external monitor and an articulated arm to mount to the camera. That way it's a piece of hardware that can travel to your next camera, unlike the $600 you sink into repairing your current one.

you could post a for sale thread in the marketplace. see what kind of feedback you get on it. if someone buys it, great, if not you could get it fixed and post another ad..

true da... the thing is, If I'm shooting all day, I have yet to find a monitor that has decient battery life, and that the size won't annoy me. (for behind the scenes work)

I've also been thinking about going the HV20 route with a nice 35 adapter but feel like part of my manhood would be taken away... haha.

Because we would chop it off?

I say keep it, you never know when it may come in handy. If you do sell it, for sure keep the box, rods and filters. (Or at least give me first crack at 'em.)

what about varizoom? they have a 5.6 inch kit for $429 and a 7 inch kit for $529. you can buy an extra battery for $39 and that would be cheaper than getting your lcd fixed.
