I have seen it projected from DVD on a good projector with a great sound system. The transfer to DVD went bad and flattened the audio track so bad that 25% of the dialogue was unintelligible.
I emailed the director to alert him of the problem. They were aware and were already in the process of fixing the problem by sending new DVDs out to theaters so it should be corrected by now.
That audio problem aside, technically it was just okay 60i. The premise and content of the film were good and worth viewing but it wouldn't hurt much to wait for DVD seeing how it's DVD projected anyway. Also, the filmmaker has hinted that he might make it a free download at some point in the future.
Yes, commercial. The theater has a very good audio system so it wasn't the system.
Not sure where it went south but you gotta be kicking yourself when random strangers are emailing you to tell you that the audio on your latest feature film release sucks.
DVD in a theater? Huh? I saw it in Berkeley on a small screen and it looked and sounded great. Since when did we start using DVD's to project in theaters? Did you attend a private screening? Anyways we tried to get Rev. Billy in our film (Consume This!) but he had to decline as Spurlock had him locked up for this one. I liked it. I thought it pulled together nicely in the end although I would have cut 10-15 minutes out of the middle.
