What Tripod To Go With?

I am thinking that I will for sure go with the bogen 503 head but as far as the legs go, i was going to get the 301's but I think that I might want something smaller like the 755. speaking of the 755 MDeVe....does anyone think that it is worth saving 40 or so bucks and going with the 756? http://www.evsonline.com/merchant2/...oduct_Code=756B so it doesn't handle as big of a load or go quite as high... I am asking the pros that know how much all the equipment added together weigh (because i don't ) will this matter for any situation that I find myself in. Also, is 48 inches high enough? I am just wondering if the 756 is still a good tripod. I also would like it if I could purchase the 503 head with this tripod with a bag in a set.... They don't make this combination though....does this mean that I have to do it myself and purchase seperately? I know very little about tripods...does this combination make sense? I just know I need something!!!

Does the 755/756 ----503 combination make sense? Do these go together?

48 inches would not be enough for me, I am not even sure about 63. I am getting ready to buy teh 503/351 set, which seems nice enough and has bag/spreader and ball. And also keeping my eye open for a used set of 3046 sticks, when I need the extra height. I may end up just buyingthe 3046.

ANd if you bother going back evena couple of days, you will see several extensive discussions about tripods. WHy is it harder to pick a tripod than a camera???
 
I wish Bogen/Manfrotto would pick some model numbers and stay with them...I have no idea what any of the 3xxx numbers mean.

st got the 502/525MVB kit (with ball, spreader, and bag) from EVS. Ooooooooooo, pretty. Goes high enough. Goes pretty low, too, if you spread the legs out.

Glad my wife made me buy it. :)

The 503/525 is a nice set too, but $250 more than the 503/351. It goes lower, which is nice, but has floor level spreader which is less useful outside than a mid-level spreader. While we are on the subject, if a tripod comes with a spreader, can you use it without the spreader also?
 
You can use it without the spreader. There's also a mid-level spreader available for the 525 legs, if needed.
