what to use? how best to shoot?

I have a project coming up where I need to make "glamour shots" of a house interior - think lifestyle of rich and famous or cribs. the house is multi-floor so i need some sort of stabilization to nicely do a "floating" shot. I do not own any sort of steadying device but am thinking of something like a glidecam 2000...
would this be sufficient or is it worthwhile renting some sort of vest system - what are the learning curves/setup times on both?
aside from that, what types of shots are most flattering to an interior of a house to highlight it best.. i notice a lot of times, the aforementioned shows will start w/ a closeup of some object and then zoom out to a wide shot of a room, or will also pan during that shot. any ideas on nice reveals of that type? any lighting tricks?
thanks!

If you've never used a vest-type steadycam, I wouldn't show up to the shoot to use it, It takes some practice to get use to. If your shooting with a dvx or hvx I'd just use a glidecam unless you know how to use a steadycam.

A glidecam takes about 5 min tops to setup. I've used a really nice vest style steadycam before and it took about 20 min to get the head balenced and to get the whole thing turned perfect.
