What to use for time-lapse???

I'm shooting a makeover of a house over a 5-day period and don't want to have to scroll through 50 tapes at the end of the week. What kind of decks or cameras are there that have a time-lapse function?

I've seen "lipstick" or "ice-cube" cameras in action before, but don't know a lot about them. If I went that route, I would need to run it to a deck that has a time-lapse capability, correct?

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Andrew

yes you import them as a stills sequence.

Yes many cameras have a timelapse setting, but all that does is make the video camera work more like a still camera. The point is you'll get better lattitude and resoultion and overall quality using a DSLR camera; there is no advantage to using the DVX/HVX for timelapse except for cost (if you do not own a DSLR). Timelapse on a video camera is like video mode on a still camera; both can do the job, but you'll get better results using the right tool for the right job. Sometimes were limited by funds, so its nice to have the option. If you can use a DSLR, use one; if you can't, the DVX will do fine.
