what to do with $160...

I currently have about $160 to spend on some piece of equipment for my DVX or my set-up. At this time, my DVX is only outfitted with a shotgun mic with a shock mount and the rest of the cam is stock. I have an indiFOCUS coming, which I am recieving for free, but I dont have a rail system as of now, is this what I should invest in? I am not quite convinced I should, I would rather have something that makes a noticable difference to my work. Arent FF's mostly for use with 35mm adapters? (which I dont have.) Basically my question is, with $160, what is the next logical purchase I should make?

matteblox would be cool, cinetactics.com

varizoom makes some cool things for that price range too.

i assume you have a tripod, but how about bag?

you could buy some filters..

I second that motion for a set of filters. Good ones to have include grad and UV. Just pop the UV on and leave it to protect your Leica lens.

I think an FF rig is worthwhile.

I know that I'm using guerilla tricks (read: scribbled paper tape, and lots of it) to get FF with my stock DVX, and an actual FF unit would sure be handy...

Tripod.
Better (more) mics & cables, to be ready for different situations
headphones (I love my etymotics)
extra DVXuser battery
Polarizing filter
monopod
glidecam or other stabilizer system

or any other large city. How about a grande soy no-whip White Chocolate Mocha. My fav. Starbucks-speak needs to be instituted as an official English dialect.

Hey, send me the $160 and I will figure out (for you of course) what to do with it.

Make it a Sticky Pod Nothing says "noticable" like a high speed car chase. Get some stellar moving action with a Sticky Pod ProPak and you'll still have $20 bucks left in your pocket.
