Just got Oktava MK 12 with hypercardiod capsule, but also came with -10db thingie- what's that for? Sorry if it should be obvious, but all I've used is Sennheiser ME66.
this is attenuation to record loud sounds, it make the capsule less sensitive and prevent distortion occurs in your preamp .usially you wouldn't need it for regular work
