What to do in post with t2i footage?

After filming with the t2i on neutral settings with 0, -4, -2, 0 (I think that's what it is, it's the setting Philip bloom suggests) is it expected that you will color correct and sharpen some? I've found the footage looks a tad soft, not bad, but it could be a little sharper, and do most people color correct afterwards? Sorry if this seems a little basic, I haven't done much post work before.

My DP and I were messing around with that exact issue last night. You can change the color setting to Landscape and get the look you want straight out of the camera. However, we found that to have a bit too much red in it. We've been using Bloom's settings and correcting it in post. It's better to have a good neutral to work with at the start because getting it back there, should you need to, is nearly impossible. The reason being, the T2i seriously compresses the video so the range of the spectrum isn't there when you go to correct it. Hence, Bloom's neutral suggestion.

kind of a late response but i am just getting into the whole "neutral" universe and wondering what your post process is...........i am assuming to use the 3 way corrector/secondary corrector to make the colors pop and then maybe grade with magic bullet?.......or is it the grading that brings the colors back?

My post-prod technique (as a novice) was just using the eye dropping tool in the 3 way corrector.

thanks
