What to charge?

Hi guys,

I have recently started my own business and I sense that there are some clients waiting for me
I'm just a one man crew, sometimes two (with weddings) and I film everything in HD. I have good filming/editing/compositing/animation skills and can use these when necessary.

Some of the gear I use, which you're not likely to encounter around here:

• Canon XH-A1
• Glidecam 4000 Pro (Smooth Shooter)
• Letus FE

I'm both focusing on businesses, musicians and regular clients fo like weddings etc.


Is there an indication on what to charge?

No idea what the market in Netherlands is....

A good place to start is to define what your day rate and weekly rate are and what that package includes. You as cam op, your cam, etc, etc. It varies wildly depending on a host of variables - budget, type of job, lenghth, daily hours, etc.

As far as market rates, call up wedding videographers or shooters and find out their rates. They should tell you a ballpark without much effort. then you'll know what your target is.
