what to ask for?

can someone tell me a good digital format for transport and delivery?

I believe our client wants to send footage to us on a betacam sp tape. Since we have a digital workflow, would it be cool to ask for uncompressed .avi or .mov? Or is there a better format to work with? We're mostly going to be doing ADR work.

I believe the content is non HD so file sizes shouldn't be too crazy.

Thanks in advance.

I'd just rent a Beta deck if you don't already have one. Asking the client to create files in my experience is never a good thing one from a business relations standpoint and two from a technological one. Also if the footage is on BetaSP, it won't be HD.

dotto. Dont bust yourself by announcing your limitations.
There are plenty of dub houses that will transfer it for you if you can't rent a deck.
