what time of day (precisely) is this Deadpool teaser?

Hey guys,

I'm continually collecting information on color temperature and light sources, to use when grading my movies.

Can someone tell me what time of day this Deadpool trailer is meant to represent? Its day-for-night, except clearly it doesn't represent the "middle of the night" or it would be darker/more low key (Its also a hollywood film where the DFN is done well, unlike the phony DFN we amateurs do).

I guess the audience just thinks "evening" or "dusk" or "early nightime", right?

I'm also wondering if its meant to be early morning, like at 2:13 he gets hit with a beam of light that clearly represents the sun picking through builidings and trees, etc. But then again that could still mean evening/dusk/sun going down, etc. Or maybe that light is just meant to represent a street light.

My brain hurts.

any thought on the motivation for the overall blue color here would be helpful to my studies. Keep in mind I don't care what temp the light would be in real life- only interested in the storytelling and what the viewer "buys".

thanks.

I had a feeling (the garbage trucks) but then the movie theatre lights threw me off, but now I realize yeah its super early AM and everythings on from the night before.

I live in NYC and whenever I go to work at 5 AM there's shady characters and homeless people everywhere and I realize holy crap Im waking up to go to work and these are the people who never went to bed their lives take place in the middle of the night.

no, Im not exaggerating or joking.

It has a feeling almost of being in a stage - which is kind of a nice reflection of the Semi comic book pseudo reality.

You can guess at the actual light levels by seeing the ratio between the practicals and the "daylight" of course the practicals may be dimmable or fixtures that are not usual.

I'm not sure how they shot it to hold the light continuity through the schedule - maybe over days or maybe it is a stage?

Blue could be created by shooting/grading off temp aka set the camera at 3500k and the day becomes very blue.

I wonder if looks meastro CP can shed some light

I wouldnt be surprised if thats what the script says--- I mean thats clearly what it is now that I think about it- the garbage truck, the street lights still on from the night before, streaks of sunlight peaking through buildings, etc. It takes place in that netherworld between "last night" and "this morning" when the freaks are all out and most people are asleep.

I'm not interested in replicating it exactly, just trying to add to my grab bag of tricks for grading using color temperature of the light sources as motivation.

So now I can add this to my notebook:

pre-dawn/first light= blue (perhaps with warm tungsten sources showing)

done.
