okay,i'm pretty much screwed.

i shot a project in 24p (normal), brought it onto a 23.98 timeline in FCP, edited it (1 hour trt!!), and exported it using the default 90min best setting in COMPRESSOR.

i then brought it into DVD STUDIO PRO, made a simple menu, and burned it (5mbits/7mbits max).

NOW when i watch it there is heavy strobing during all the shots, and the slow motion i did (70-80%) looks like complete ass.

pretty much the entire project is un-watchable. :zombie_smiley:

please please please help!!!

what did i do wrong, why does this look like such crap!?!?

what can i do to fix it?!?

thanks friends!

24p normal was designed to be edited in a 29.97 environment. Perhaps that could be causing part of the problem.

weren't there alarm bells sounding when you had to render every piece of video when you laid it into the timeline with no modification?

perhaps update to date mac's don't have to render this... but that is probably your issue.. you can't edit on a 23.98 timeline when the footage your using is 29.97. FCP will just select random frames to throw away to conform to the 24fps

just create a new timeline with a 29.97FPS timebase. kill all the rendering you have for that 23.98 timeline with the render manager, then copy n paste the entire sequence into the newly created one. you should be fine... then you can just export a quicktime movie and re-encode to MPEG2.
