FCP 4.5 / G5/ XL2 as deck for monitoring. Any ideas why FCP can't find the cam?
Gone into A/V settings and I can only switch between (None) and (Missing firewire NTSC)
Please help
Can I download some sort of driver or something? F*&$!
Love always

Do you have an extra firewire cable you could use? I just had two cables go out on me... and was getting the same issue. Or it may be the firewire port itself that's going bad... either on your cam or your PC. Play around, do some tests and let us know :)

Currently pulling my hair out trying to find my xtra firewire. argghhh! Good suggestion though. Sometimes it's the smallest things. Like the subplot behind War Of The Worlds. How ridiculous, I hate those cheesy copout endings.

By the way M. Night Shamalamamalamaalan : What about the 70-80-and90% humidity levels in our wonderful atmosphere. You need to do your research before you make another blockbuster hit damnit. Love always

LOL what??

Try different cable or different firewire port on G5 (2 - 400 and 1 - 800 on the duals)
Some peopl have had problems on the Mac where they thought it was a blown port but found out later it was a driver issue. If the hardware cables don't help check Macintouch site for firewire issues.

Thanks everyone, I finally got it, had to reinstall Tiger. One cool trick I just learned, you can install the new os and still retain all you files as if it were still an upgrade by going into the options just before install and making sure archive files is checked. Works flawlessly. Sorry M.Night Love always. Kman
