What sort of a stand is this?

That looks like a Sunbounce Micro-Mini reflector ( 2' x 3' ) attached to a standard aluminum light stand using a standard grip head.

Looks like it to me. I have three of those stands and they're the bee's knees. Sturdy and tall, lightweight for their size, and they interlock with each other to make a compact package for transport.

He's not completely alone. Somebody had to be there to take the picture! He doesn't look very happy about it, though.

This could be accomplished with just about any light stand or C-stand. I wouldn't get caught up in which stand was used for this shoot.
