What Song Would You Choose?

Another thread got me thinking; assuming the rights were available to you...

What 'song' would you choose to be the opening title song? This is mandaotry as the Producer wants a song; but its up to you. Which one?

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

But which one? :D

I have had BOC's 'Don't Fear The Reaper' planned for the longest time.

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

i concur with jonny Cash. ( i am not sure if this is based upon our personal opinion of our own project or if John posted a project that other people saw and is asking opinions.)

I would use the Bside of a NIN album.... Reznors more classical style music like "a warm place".  Noone ohter than Diehard NIN fans usually ever listen to it so it sounds really origional.

Beck.... lots of beck.  and hes flexible cause he can do sad or happy.

I've always liked "I See a Darkness". Playing that with scenes cut between the opening credit sequence could work well.

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

Bicycle by Queen. I have this awesome opening credits sequnce in my head that is accompanied by that song.

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

Thunder Road. I always thought that would be a great song to do a short to. "The screen door slams, Mary's dress waves. Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays..." the whole song has such great imagery.

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

The Beatles "Here Comes the Sun". In fact, I would probably choose to end a movie with that song.

To open a film, I would choose The Smashing Pumpkins "Muzzle".

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

Chico's Groove by the chemical brothers.. or the always classic "where do i begin"

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

September, by David Sylvian (Secrets Of The Beehive)
Because, by the Beatles (Abbey Road)
Any Beethoven piano piece
You're My Thrill, by Joni Mitchell (Both Sides Now)
All Blues, by Miles Davis (Kind Of Blue)
Mercy Street, by Peter Gabriel (So)
Summertime, by Peter Gabriel (not in any album I know, but my favorite cover of Summertime)

And in a more energetic mood :

Jailhouse Rock, by Elvis Presley (was it on an album ?)
Electrobank, by The Chemical Brothers (Dig Your Own Hole)
Next To You, by The Police (Outlandos d'Amour)
In Bloom, by Nirvana (Nevermind)
Hotride, by The Prodigy (Always Ounumbered, Never Outgunned)
Rat Race, by Bob Marley (Rastaman Vibration)

Perfect! I'm sure everyone here was stuck between anything by NSync, Vixen, Nelson, Poison, or the theme from the Dukes of Hazzard or the Facts of Life. ;D

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

I find the inspiration for this thread to be a nice turn of irony, John. :D

Re: What Song Would You Choose?

I am not sure what we are picking a 'song' for in this post, but if its something dark and scary, then "I Am Become Death" by Joe Satriani is the one I would pick. But it would prob only work for something wholeheartedly nutzoid. I am partial to Satch for his lyricless genius.

But, like I said, I'm not sure I understand the original post here, so you may all disregard this answer.

:D
