what software for this effect?

I'm shooting a music video and want to have a person to be in black & white and everything else (background etc.) in color. I'm just wondering what software I'll need to do this? Thanks in advance.
 
u using green sceren? u can use final cut, or after effects, just use the KEY plugin, and key out the backgroun, then make your person black and whitem and add in a colored back ground. OR

you can use motion or after effects, or shake, and ROTOSCOPE arond your person FRAME BY FRAME (im capitalzing these words cuz it sVERY TEDIOUS)
 
For realistic results, this will require rotoscoping. Shoot your scene in color, with everybody doing there thing, then bring the shots you want into AE and draw a mask around frame 1 of the character you want to be in black and white, then frame by frame adjust the mask as the talent moves. Make sure you hit the Mask Shape keyframe, so that it retains all your changes, because its a sad day when you've been working for hours and you go back only to realize you havent activated keyframes.
 
if you have the equipment :GREEN SCREEN
If not, rotoscoping is your next bet but will take some time depending on the length of you scene.

You can use a garbage matte with a bit of feathering if ya want a quckie way to rotoscope but the results might look like "garbage". But sometimes that's cool too.
 
you can make your talent wear green or blue and paint him from head to toe with green/blue make-up and temporary hair color and then tune the green down to black and white in post.

if you want to be near grass and sky pick orange or purple.
