What should the "Doc" look be?
Should it be grainy back and white 16mm or super sharp high def Sony EX1 style?
Should it be Canon MKII? or Velvety 35mm film?
To me, the subject matter clearly determines what the artist should employ.
Times are a changing but for the better as their will clearly be more and more choices at hand to paint our stories with.
I just saw Bigger Stronger Faster* and it was fantastic! Shot on 2 HVX200's with just 2 8Gig P2 cards.
Simply Fantastic!
It was more than the equipment not just getting in the way but it was the camera's producing a very nice and pleasing image with great variety. (Mostly due to noise in lower light.)
I am thinking that the HMC150 is nearly impossible to beat for Doc work!
Perhaps the Canon 5D MKII would be it's only really strong contender at that price point due to it's ability to use so many fabulous and affordable lenses.
I know I know I know 30p but to me that is a big plus! Especially with 1080 30p!
If you wanted me to give you a rig to shoot your doc today what would it be?
