What should I charge (Glidecam rental...)

I have an opportunity to rent out my Glidecam 4000 next week here in Canada.

What would be a normal daily rental for a GC 4000 without a vest?
There's also a chance that I might be operating the Glidecam for a few of the days. It's a music video for a fairly big country star, and while I've got some decent experience under my belt it's the first time it would be a paid gig. What factors should I look at in setting up an estimate? I figure it'll depend on how many shots I'm doing, how long the days are, etc.

I'm just afraid to lowball myself here. I know its going to be pretty hard also going that long without a vest.

EDIT: So the shoot is a few hours a day, mostly walking across various landscapes. I will be spending the entire day with these people thanks to the travel time, etc. so it's pretty much a whole day gone.

Well, considering the Glidecam is only $400 new, I wouldn't expect much. Maybe 25-50 USD for a day rental, depending on how many days. If they need it all week, go closer to 25. If they only need it two days, go 50.

With you along, you would need to charge a day rate, plus travel expenses. Say .35 cents a mile for travel, and with your experience (or lack there of), I'd go somewhere around the $175-250 per day, depending on their budget. That's up to 10-12 hours... none of this "16 hour days" on that rate. If it's just a half day, meaning NO MORE THAN 4 HOURS, then lets say $100 or so.

Hope that helps.
