what short film contest for getting an imdb credit ?

Anybody know some short film contests to submit a short film to that if accepted would qualify the short film for getting an imdb credit? Also, in general is it necessary to have production stills photos for such a short film contest submission?

Do you even have to get accepted anymore? i seem to remember simply ENTERING via withoutabox was enough in many (or all) cases.

idk, i remember a few years ago trying to get a couple of shorts on imdb listings and they were not accepted and all i could figure was because the short film contest i had them in was not judged by judges but by an audience. So I want to figure out where to resubmit the shorts, plus a new short or two in the works, in hopes of getting imdb credits.

i did not know of withoutabox, just found it, interesting that it is a subdivision of IMDB
https://www.withoutabox.com/
so maybe as you say that is all that is needed, especially as it is part of imdb?

what about production stills-- anybody know if that is needed for submitting to withoutabox?

Yes, if you submit your film to a festival on withoutabox, you and your cast and crew will get an IMDB credit even if you are not selected for screening, as long as you fill everything out. You can create a "press kit" on withoutabox with production still. It's a good idea but you don't have to.

Yep, just setup thru WAB. Amazon owns both WAB and IMDb and ever since that, you've been able to get an IMDb listing just by using WAB. Alternatively, the reason IMDb wants proof you were in a festival is they want third party verification that the movie exists and is in the public interest. So when you submit, you can add a link under MISC URL to an article or interview or any mention of your movie by an unrelated third party. That's what I've been doing for 10 years and never had an issue. Can't be your official site, or your Facebook page for the movie. Has to be a legitimate third party unassociated with the movie.
