What rates should an FCP editor charge?

No offense but it's getting annoying to hear people who have been in the business a while whine about today's world.

Well maybe we could convince the Moderators to split the DvxUser site into two parts: one could be for kids who live in their parent's basements and make skateboard videos, and the other could be for actual working professionals. I'll stick to my side if you stick to your side.

To me, marketing yourself as an editor and not knowing Avid and only knowing FCP is like walking with one leg, it can be done but it makes getting around difficult.

I've been on Avid since '91 and learning FCPro helped open up a LOT more freelance opportunities for me.

I see your point. The question of "how much do editors make" is a far stretch from the title of the thread, "What rates should a FCP editor charge?". How do people come up with assumptions like this? Narrow minded conformists I suppose.
