What percentage do video producers get?

I work with several clients on producing training DVD's. I have about 60 grand invested in equipment, plus 12 years of experience. Anyway, in the past I have produced on an hourly basis. I have a few projects, which I really believe in. The client does not have any resources, but has good content. They have almost no financial investment, but have alot of intellectual investment. So here is my question. If I upfront the time (3 months per project) and provide all of the financial investment to produce some top quality training DVDs that will sale. What percentage is normal?

Thanks.

There is no "normal", it's whatever you guys agree to. But if you're putting up all the cash, that's usually somewhere around a 50/50 right there. If you're putting up the time and the gear too, it wouldn't necessarily be unreasonable to ask for 2/3.

Or you could divide it up so that you get 100% of the revenues until your cash investment is paid back, and then you get 75% of the next batch of revenues until the billing for your gear & time is paid back, and then you split 50/50 from there on out.

It's all up to whatever you guys agree to.
