Hi everyone!
Ok, so we're basically after Photokina.
Samsung just released their flagship NX1.
A7S was released not so long time ago.
GH4 will be flagship for at least half a year.
5D IV - NAB 14 or sometime around.

We can safely say that till NAB 2015 (or just before it, vide GH4 release) nothing top of the range for video will be released? Or I am missing some show or brand? (I am talking about $3-4k maximum ballpark).

You're missing CES 2015. In terms of the 5Dmk4, the 5Dmk3 was released early 2012. If Canon follows its timing for upgrades, dont expect one till early 2016. The C-series should get their (a) update but i think the Auto-focus update may classify as that. Just a note, NAB will be April 2015.

Oh yes, I forgot CES 2015. Something might be announced (GH5 possibly?) but before it will be released we can safely say it's at least half a year more? I guess it's allright to decide on gh4 or a7s now.

Side note: I've corrected that NAB date, thanks.

I highly doubt that Canon would release a still camera at NAB. Yeah us video folks have been all crazy about DSLRs since end of '08, but if you look at the specs on the 7Dii it is pretty clear that Canon makes still cameras primarily for still shooters, and if they were going to release a 5Div they'd probably do it as an event to itself.

This has been true for years now: If you need a camera now, get a camera now that you'll use now. Don't wait for the next thing b/c there will always be the next thing & if you're making money, you'll make money with the camera you buy & use now instead of waiting.

So make the jump to the GH4 or A7s now & don't keep waiting & waiting & waiting...
