What music is this?

[Chris Messineo]

About halfway through this trailer for the movie "Sunshine" the score really kicks in to high gear.

Can anyone tell me what music that is?

Is it from the movie (I don't remember it in there)?

It's from the "requiem for a dream" score by Clint Mansell.

It's talked about in a couple threads here; here's one:

The theme is indeed from Requiem. Obviously the version you're talking about has been completely redone.

The people scoring the "Two Towers" trailer really liked the theme Mansell had created for Requiem so with his cooperation they re-did the whole thing with a full orchestra.

The remake is called "Requiem for a Tower" and while only originally intended to be "trailer music" it was made available due to overwhelming fan requests in an album of the same name, I believe. Look for "Requiem for a Tower" or Corner Stone Cues" to buy it on iTunes.

I've also heard it used in the trailers for "Zathura," and "I am Legend" as well as a "Lost" promo last year.

I think this is where I read about it about a year ago...

Pretty interesting, to me anyway.

Clint Mansell must be incredibly rich by now.

Thanks for all the info.
