Hi there,

What lav would you recommend for Sennheiser EW112P-G2 Evolution Wireless System ??

D.

depends - how much you can afford
everything better then the mike which come 3 with the tx
for low budget , the lectrosonics 152 can work as outside mike for interviews when the mike could be seen , don't live well under cloths.
the emw from countryman is very dissent mike , you need the picked version
the b-6 is very good option , the smallest mike with water resistance characteristics , working grate as hidden mike or over the cloths , the bad thing is the most sensitive to wind , so outside work is quiet hard
the sanken coss 11 is my favor for all around work , the best for ties and one of the best for cloths rustling
the dpa is excellent as well, good for loud voices , very natural sounding ,very low noise
the mke 2 is also very good sounding mike , but hard to work under cloths
so its about 100-400 $ to spend , if you buy lavalier ,buy it include power supply and just add brake connectors in the middle , that way you will be able to use it in hard wire situations when your receiver will have bad days , of course it would sounds better since wasn't chop inside the sennheiser

I have seen there are many different versions of the Countryman B6. Can you find the right one for me? What plugs do I need on it?

Pretty much I want the Sennheiser G2 and 2-3 Countryman Lavs WIRELESS. Can you tell me or send me a link for the right Countryman B6 then I will sorely appreciate it.

Best regards,
D.

you need that one , but better to buy the xlr phantom vertion and make brake in the middle with male /female
http://www.northernsound.net/Sales/mics/frame.html
seems to be the cheapest place , they also sell sens wireless so can help you to choose the right one ( they have the wireless version on their site specified for each transmitter)
if you buy few , buy at least one in flash color , it might help if you are going to place the mike on the skin

"make brake" me no habla ingles... No seriously, what is a brake?

"sens wireless" and that is??

the caps which are placed on the mike ( change the fq response and make the mike water proof ) could come in different colors , you can add white caps and paint them each time to different color , that way you can match the color of the cup to the people wardrobe and place the mike outside .the mike is small enough not to be seen in the shot even on close ups

to make a brake - as it sounds , you cut the wire near the power supply, place male locking connectorand on the mike side place the feemale connector on the power supply side , now you can work wireless or use the 48 ph in linear connection
sens - do you really think iam going to wright sennheiser each time:-)

i just wonna add you need a gray band ( regular)0db mike , since there are another 2 versions with low sensitivity

"sens - do you really think iam going to wright sennheiser each time"

Considering the amount of full stops aka periods, capital letters and commas you have thrown all over this thread, I would guess..... NOPE ;o)

Thanks for info and links!! It is appreciated.

I presume it is another lav? Do you have a link?

Cutting wires and stuf... makes my stomach upset ;)

I hope you will finish with good film ,its more important then what mike you use , eventually they will dub the audio track anyway if it going to be international wide :-)

The B6 comes in two reduced sensitivity versions... that's gray band. Just tell them you want the standard B6 lav, NOT the reduced sensitivity one... then tell them what wireless you're planning to use and that you want to be able to use it hard-wired on phantom OR with a sens wireless.

They should understand and offer the options Oleg just gave you... also, I wasn't going to mention it here, but the sennheiser wireless is freaky cheap at northernsound... but you have to call or email to get the price... it's stupid cheap. EW100ENGG2 ninety dollars less (shipped) then anybody else in USA.

Thanks Matt,

Appreciated as always :)

I am finally getting narrowed down what I am looking for.
Sennheiser G2 (rather than the pricy 744T for now)
Countryman B6 - 3 pieces.
Marantz 660 or 670 sound recorder
A sound device 302 mixer if funds allow it.

sorry but i have to ask , why do you need it ? , if you are filmmaker ,bring a soundman with equip for the movie , eventually you will not able to make good recording without professional person
one point when you consider non linear recorder , with the tc , you can work much freely and not slate every take . the synking proses might be automatically in nle .
check for used zaxcom deva 2 , its running now for 3-4000$ with ext dvd burner, its defiantly proved it self for the last few ears , it has internal mixer capability and 4 preamps
check the bb list in uk , you can find one there if it wasnt sold already

I have heard this "bring a soundman" + "rent" so many times it makes my face go red...

I can tell you why.
1. I want to learn the equipment - even if I occasionally will use a soundman. How else can I know what to ask.
2. I want to be able to record when and how I want.. not having to worry about paying people.. Do you even know how much a sound guy with equipment will cost in Denmark with unions and stuff..?? Its a lot!
3. I want to film on trips to Texas, Paris, London and possibly China and Japan next year. So to rent a sound guy every time is not feasible...
4. If I ask about what equipment is good do you really think I want to rent??
5. Rent is good for large and serious projects; like one I have in mind a year ahead. But what about all the little shorts and other fun. It would be a shame not have a little sound package of decent enough quality..

I will look into the other stuff you mentioned... thanks. :)

1.you can learn with out buying , if you smart you will know what to ask.
2.you will have to bring soundman every time you wont to do dissent recording , if you will stuck with equipment that not work and you are responsible for that , it will cost you double , then you will have to worry how do you pay to people , while it is not yours , the guy who rent you bring the substitute , the sound package will cost you less if it comming with the sound guy who is union , the same for non union , just less . don't tell me that you don't have non union soundman in Denmark or they don't cut each others for the paycheck , even you have a very nice country ,the humans act the same in every place on our plannet .
bring one from India- very cheap , he will mix for 30% of the European rate , i can give you few names :-)
so how do you do it , allone or bring soundman from Denmark , eventually that will cost you more with or without equip , if you wont to mix thats ok , but who will shoot :-)?
4 . sorry I'm not have access to your brain :-) , i just guessing you are filmmaker , yong independent and dont have to much clew about real life production or maybe i wrong , not every purses is needed for small projects , sometimes it better to rent .
5 the same , its only matter of budget , if it small , large equip package is not justify eating dust the rest of the year , the gear is investment ,it have to work and bring money , if its not ,its nothing .
i think before you are going to large investments ( large is only a word , since for me your package cost as one of my wireless) you have to be sure that you are doing the right thing .check with people who make living from that , we call them producers (even they shoot they own films:-))
thats my 2 shekels
buy the way , if you shoot in Israel , ill be more then glad invite you for Karsberg session
of course i love to travel , with or without gear :-)
