Hi all:

Okay, I will start this thread.

35mm adapter used - Letus Extreme
Most used 35mm lens - Nikon 50mm 1.4 AI
Why? - One word, speed. I shoot a lot of interiors and interviews. Need da speed and I cannot afford the 85mm 1.4, I had to get the 85mm 1.8, which I also like a lot.

What about you?

Dan

Nikon 50mm f/1.8

Why? - Focal length. When ever the space permits me I prefer to shoot with my Nikon 70-210mm. It is beautiful on my Brevis but is a bit long for indoor work.

When shooting outdoors I love the Nikon 85 f/1.8. It's a great lens for those close ups.

When shooting indoors I love my 35mm f/1.4. It's wide nature gives me room to move around tighter spaces, where longer lenses don't work. You can't always fly the walls away.

Zeiss 50mm f1.4. I was dissatisfied with the Nikon 50mm I bought. I bought this and it blew me away. I can't afford a set of Zeiss yet. My Nikon 28mm also annoys me and just looks bad compared to the Zeiss. Unfortunately they don't match up that well. Racking focus on the Zeiss is like butter and the colors pop out so beautifully and its sharper. 50mm is a great focal length (because I think at 50mm if that makes sense) and the lens is fast. I don't know what to get next. My 28mm Nikon produces the worst images in my lineup, but my Vivitar 105mm (which takes GREAT shots) can't be used with a FF.

Using Leica Summicron-r 35 F2 for the moment with the SGpro. And the lens gives great colors, but I'm having some problem with the setup. But when fixed I will use the 35 mostly.

I use a 35mm f2 more than my 50mm f1.4 because of the wider view. And if you intent to shoot in academy (1:85) or wider (2:35), then having more info on the sides is more desirable. I believe a lot of people will have the 50mm because it is very inexpensive and available in the used market. Not to mention that was the standard lens that came with the cameras at that time. But for doing outdoor, I like using my 85mm and 105mm. for closeups.

Nikon 50mm, and my Nikon 85mm, it's such a nice focal length. I want a 35mm, I have a 28, but it's a little too dramatic for practical use, I think I'd get a lot of use out of a 35.
