Unable to open specified video output device.
May be in use bu other application, incorrectly connected, or maybe conflicting with sound input device.

Now I know it's hooked up right.
Not sure if Imovie or Iphoto running in macbook pro is the reason.

Or is there something that I have to do with the camera..switching over anything?

Im just using the final cut express 4 that I got from Apple with the lap top macbook pro '15

Won't capture for some reason..and Im sure I'm not doing something that probably simple and Im just not catching it.

Some more info from you would help.

Have you captured with the same camera/deck on the computer before?
How is the deck hooked up to the computer? Firewire?
My guess is if you have it hooked up firewire and have iMovie going already the connection is beinf used by iMovie and won't let FCE use it.

But like I said more info would help get some help.
