What is the difference between V5b and V5d?

[producer]

Does anybody know the difference between Vegas 5b and Vegas 5d actually? Any comments?

5d incorporates HDV.

Re: What is the difference between V5b and V5d?

I installed 5d on my computer and laptop and came up with a little bug. mpg clips streamed over the internet now only play the first frame. The sound continues but the first frame is the only one displayed. I noticed it here on this forum. At first I thought it was a problem with the way the file was encoded, but everybody else seemed to be able to view it. I tried it on both my notebook and desktop, same problem. It was wierd becasue I was able to view mpeg clips that morning. I did a system restore on both computers, vegas D was the only thing changed. I tried out the clip, it worked fine, I then isntalled D again, same problem. I even tried other mpeg clips on the web, same problem. Right now I am back to version B, don't have any plan to ever use HDV anyways.

See this Sony Knowledge base entry for the solution.

I have to do this every time I install Vegas.
