Im looking at going a little deeper into video production. I want to make sure I get accurate colors from recording to the final output. Currently I have an Ikan v8000 onboard display but not sure if this would be mainly for focusing. I am looking at 2 JVC monitors but cant seem to find the difference. Can someone guide me

Please help me when you can. Thanks

Theres a few differences, but mainly that the one in the first link is HD and the second SD.

Thanks Noel... Would either work for accurate color before and after?? If I am hoping to go to HD (panasonic HVX) in a few years is the 600 smaller screen a better deal or the larger 15 inch for 450... Thanks again

well as mentioned there is the HD and SD thing.

and then both have a blue gun option to help with setup, the thing that you need to check is to find out if the white balance can be set, and not just the presets of 6.5k and 9.3k, I mean be professionaly measured and then calibrated, cause if the white balance is off, you do not get the true color.

the first accepts an HD signal but is NOT an HD monitor... it only has 300 lines of resolution. it is really only a viewing monitor for a machine room or something. it is not a broadcast monitor for grading.

the second is a broadcast monitor for grading, but only accepts an SD signal. so you're I/O card will have to downconvert your HD to SD. I was planning on getting this monitor for editing/color correction, but I decided to go HD instead.

I went with the JVC DTV20L1U and an Intensity Pro card. Works well enough for what I need it to do now, but definitely see myself upgrading to a Kona LHi/3 and a better monitor in a couple years.
