What is the difference between E-series and A-series p2 cards?

on b&h, it says that the E-series grants faster transfer rates for less money. On the E-series it says 1.2 gbps...does this mean gigabytes per second (gb/s)? If this is true, why do they still sell the A-series?
 
The A-Series are more durable (pretty much last forever for most users) while the E-Series are budget quality and have shorter life span. E-Series last 5 years recording once a day. So 365 x 7 = 2555 Recordings.

I have two p2 E Series 32gb of camerabox on ebay. Cheaper and faster!! By the time i hit 2555 recordings the DVX will be a relic!!!
