Its only marketing and documentary type that make it work , i personally hate this type of "movies" and i couldnt stand blair witch and i dont even want to start watching paranormal activity , i love 24 fps and proper work of DP , i hate camcorder look.
Today distributors could market anyboy's video made with cellphone and sell it and make money on it.That would be disastrous , similar to whats happening with iphone applications ,anybody can do them and everyone does and sell them so there wer have thousands of useless apps cause everyone and their mother can code another picture viewer or some editor.If distributors would take videos made with 50 $ phone and sell it ,burn on dvd ,they would get a lot of money compared to how much it costed them to make the video.They can do this all the time ,that would be hilarious.
