what is rendered through after effect..

Here is a stupid question, but is important to me.....I don't know what it mean, because I don't have ae yet....i planing to get one soon.....


what exactly what they mean when they said "I rendered through after effect"?
 
"They" mean they took their video (or a segment of it) into After Effects, did some work on it, and then rendered out the finished video - meaning they exported their finished video from After Effects.

The work done in AE could be color correction, compositing, graphics, etc
 
so...do you work on clip by clip in ae or can you bring feature length into ae
