:zombie_smiley: First Day Of Shooting And Everything Goes Bad, Damn I Thought I Knew My Camera Here Is The Problem Guys

I Have A Dvx 100b And I Was Shooting Fine The Problem Is That I Want Two Levels Of Audio In My Vegas And When I Transport The Clips To Vegas It Only Shows One Channel Of Audio, Why? I Want To Use The Internal Mic As One Channel And An External Mic As Another

I Have Channel 1 Set To Imput 2 And Channel 2 Set To Internal
And Mic Power Is Turned On, On Imput One, Is The Problem In Vegas Or On Camera? Thanks
What Am I Doing Wrong?

It might be more helpful to give this guy some advice rather than criticize him. I thought this forum was supposed to help out indie videographers.

Okay that is pretty funny...

But here's your answer anyway... in Vegas you need to copy your audio track and paste it directly under the first track... then click right only on the top track and left only on the bottom track (or whatever you want to call it... hard pan, duplicate... whatever)... then you have your two seperate tracks.

If that doesn't do it then you have the input selector switches BOTH set to input 2... otherwise this is how it's done.

What input do you have the ext mic plugged in to?
You say you have Ch1 set to input 2 but the mic power is set on input one.
If you have Ch1 set to input 2 then you must plug the mic into input 2 and turn the power on to input 2.
Or, plug the mic into input one, select CH1, input one and turn power on input one.
Leave Ch 2 set to internal.

No one has asked the most obvious question - why are you using the internal microphone at all? It is not worth it. Plug your external mic into input 2, set both input switches to 2, set the volume on channel 1 to 12 o'clock and set the volume on channel 2 to 10 o'clock.
