You're asking what's better, a camera stabilizing system or an add-on handle for DSLR's/handycams? That's like asking what's better, an apple or a car. Are you hungry or do you need to drive somewhere? What do you need to do, stabilize the camera or add a handle?
What's the difference by the way? they look almost the same. lol. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of each? We're planning to shoot next week on location for a short film.
steadicam is a company (part of tiffen) that creates mechanical stabilization systems that are based off of principles of physics. The equipment is not cheap, expensive to repair/maintain and requires lots of training and practice to utilize effectively.
Cam Caddy is a company that makes handle mounts for small cameras. This allows you to better hold your camera. It can help avoid micro vibrations but will not stabalize the camera in nearly the same way as a steadicam.
