What is best with the HMC150 the 501HDV or the 701HDV?

Just letting you know I did buy the 503 and I have been super happy with it.
A few years later now, I need a second head to go with some other cameras.
My question is will a 701hdv support a HMC150. I don't want to break anything. I heard this head only supports around 3 pounds and the HMC is a few pounds heavier. So the counter balance might not work. I read that on amazon. Is this true. Please if you have experience with the 701hdv and HMC150, let me know your success or dislikes. This will be used on various items, treestand tripod, and slider.
I am sure this 701hdv will work with my smaller Canon video cameras.
Thanks

I really would stay with 503HDV as a min for the HMC150 now. Maybe a 501HDV. I think its almost always better to buy a little more than you think you need as later on if you start adding stuff like mics, lights, etc....you will be glad you got the better head.
The 701HDV ....may work but limits you a lot in what you could use it on. You would not want to use it with an AC160 (should you happen to add one later on as I did), for example....or at least I would not! The 701 seems lkike it would be fine for the smaller Canons, but that is as far as I would go with it.

Thank you. I use my 503 for my work, and I like the 501hdv as well, but do you have any other cheaper recommendations for a tripod head. I will use this outside in the woods and elements, and on a slider type system. So it will get some bumps and wear to it using in extreme conditions. That is why I hope to find or get by with something cheaper.
