What Input devices do you use for importing footage?

That would be a fine deck for 'capturing' to FCP. I don't know about its interfacing w/ Contour Shuttle Pro but I don't see why not.

If your main concern is just saving wear & tear on your DVX heads, you might as well save some money and buy a cheap camcorder. This topic's been covered a lot here but that DV deck might be overkill if finances are a concern. Just a thought....

Per your signature, Jethro Tull is considered by many a pioneer in modern agriculture. He did (and invented) all sorts of stuff... the seed drill, horse-drawn hoe, etc. Having typed that, I think the jury's still out on whether flutes should be used in rock.

I love the Sony GVD products. They're great little devices. I've used a few different models and had great success with them all (except when trying to use one as a recorder device in a fighter jet, they aren't quite meant for that I'm afraid).

As for the shuttle control, that should be deck independent. If the shuttle will work with other firewire based devices you've used in FCP then it should work the same with a GVD. I don't have one here to test for you, but I'd be surprised if it didn't work (so long as you have had it work with other firewire VTRs).

cheers.

I've been useing this deck for a few years never had a problem with it , and it does interface fine with my countour shuttle.

Didnt you ever see that movie Armegeddon? One of the more classic lines in the flick...

Thanks for the info.
