I use to have a P2 store, but with new ways of transfering footage, and the P2 store only being 60 gig, I wanted to sell it while it still had monetary value.
Don't get me wrong, the P2 store has great usability value, just monetarily it is becoming less in demand.
What I want now is a device that could take multiple P2 cards, and download them to a removable hard drive.
Lets say, make it have (5) P2 ports, with the ability to download multiple cards
to a removable hard drive. Each port can have a selectable switch wheras you can select: download and erase card, download without erasing card, or read card as one of 5 volumes. Also it would be nice to have an led indicationg red for downloading, yellow for erasing, and green for read mode.
Not sure how the whole 15 partition thing worked, but it seems it could be simpler by not creating partitions and just putting everything in a folder per card in one big partition based on the size of the drive.
Basically set it up like a hardware based P2 genie.
They can sell it without drive, and the customer adds that later, and sell it with
drives of various sizes.
They can even sell software modules that can:
convert on the fly the footage to: Quicktime files, aspect HD files, Avi's etc
That would be lovely.
