What happens if I lose my dongle/license?

Was reading through the manual of my newly purchased Edius BC 4 when I came upon a section which stated somehting like "Don't lose your donle/license or you're up $hits creek".

As I understand if you transfer the license from the dongle it does indead transfer the license literally off, wiping it clean.

So my question is; has anyone had to deal with edius over a lost dongle/license and how'd it go?
 
Generally speaking we are reasonable people (at least I like to think so), it's just a matter of calling and speaking to someone. The speaking part is really key.
