What happened to the VidLED?

Vidled is closer to having available units then you think... The improved versions are very nice, and yet backward compatible for everybody that already owns a Vidled. The Vidled guys are going to great lengths to make the next gen Vidleds better then ever.

Good to hear Matt - every once in a while I think about selling my little old vidled as I just dont use all that often anymore and have a Zylight thats a bit more robust, but I can't handle parting with the vidled. It just works too well.

I was holding out to pick up a new VidLed light before the start of this years wedding season but am now losing hope. Left messages on there website but no one answered them. I searched the forums for the light and found out that the same projected completion dates were quoted for about the same time in the late winter of 2008 with nothing ever surfacing. I'd really like an LED light that will be powered with the DVX batteries since I already have so many of them. Maybe I'll take a look at the new Microbeam or Swit LED light as they can be ordered to take the DVX batteries.

Hey Jeff - if you ever want to get rid of your old Vidled's feel free to let me know -
I've used Vidleds on a few shoots recently and have completely fallen in love with them.
For the right kind of shoot they're really indispensable.

You know Luis, a month ago I might have - but have been working with the d90 lately and in really low light where you need just a tiny bit of fill - the zylight is too bright. Will probably be picking up more when production begins again... They really are the perfect light in many many situations... Vidled?? Where are you!? We need some more!!

We were doing some destruction tests a few days ago with the new aluminium housings.
(I'll post a new video when I get a chance...)

We did the testing similar to last time with the plastic housings on a brand new, smooth concrete pad.

I stopped the testing prematurely as I was concerned that we were damaging the concrete too much...

Set "A" works just fine on both A/C and Batteries.

On Set "B", one of the lights ONLY works on batteries, not A/C.

Other than that everything works great.

Price for Set A:$550 plus shipping
Price for Set B:$500 plus shipping

Can anyone help me find a charger for my vidled? (coolLED 40)

first off, great product. airline lost my luggage (and my charger). But the battery had juice for ONE YEAR with on and off use.

But I'm having trouble finding a replacement AC charger. And unfortunately Vidled won't get back to me. Someone at radio shack told me if i don't get the right voltage I could burn my battery.

According to the vidled site I need one that fits these specs: 110V-240V, 50/60Hz. Output 12V/1.2A

Pls. VIDLED ship now.

From a pr standpoint they would have been better off not ever posting that video. Yeah, they had a good thing going but for whatever reason it's probably safe to assume Vidled is history. Success or failure is just the way it is in a free market. If you really have to have one, look to the Marketplace. Plenty of other alternatives out there also. Right now, Comer looks like they are leading the pack in price/performance/usability.
