What genre?

I'm curious about the genre of a small piece I'm building. If one shoots footage of a certain place ie. park or roadside attraction, or anyplace and set the clips to music with some narration that doesn't necessarily describe the piece, but instead describes feelings invoked by the footage itself, what genre does that fall into? Is it a documentary film, experimental...What? I know it's not sci-fi or drama, but how would one classify it?

Would the genre be the same if there were no narration only music?
 
Not sure. But if you added nudity and showed penetration it would be catergorized as porn. That I'm sure about. Everything else is up to the filmmaker.

PK, don't you have something better to do in Thailand? BTW, I ate Burger King in Hat Yai, best thing about that city.
 
:) I didn't think they had Burger King's here. Something about respecting the King's name and image. It would be GREAT if they opened a BK here in Nong Khai. Man, I haven't had a cheesburger in almost a year.

Haven't been to Hat Yai. That's way down south, right? That area is having a lot of problems now. Another 5 people just died in bomb attacks today.

The best part about BK in Hat Yai was the bacon burger, I was in Malaysia for 18 months with no bacon. Mmmmmmm. They also had Fanta rootbeer on tap, that's hard to find in the states!

Mino, let me ask you, why do you want know what genre a film you are making is? Are you trying to come up with a way to describe it for other folks or what?

You can do what I usually do and just tell them that, "We are making a scathing indictment of modern bourgeois life" or "It's a women in prison musical. Is your sister busy on Saturday?" Always works.
