What formats take up less space than PRORES 422?

[dadirector89@yahoo.com]

Im using MPEG streamclip to convert my files in order to use in FCP. What format can I compress my files to that take up less space than pro res 422? I only have FCP 5.

What are the source files' native format?

[kostas]

Apple Intermediate Codec AIC works nicely even if you grade.

[Shane Ross]

DVCPRO HD. ProRes won't work with FCP 5 anyway.

Native file format are .mov h.264 files. And is Apple Intermediate Codec the same thing as Apple Intermediate Codec AIC? I tried it and it works fine, even with a couple added filters!

[NoahK]

yes AIC is Apple Intermediate Codec.
