What happened to this film? They used to be prety good at making them. There was Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, Happy Gilmore. All those movies are hilarious in a stupid funny way AND have a little bit of a story that they can hang their hat on.

Today it seems like it's just "Saturday Night Live Guy plays silly character movie". But there's no real thought put into it anymore. They think the setup is enough. All those movies I listed are over 10 years old. Are there people who agree with me that those are classics that today's films haven't equaled? Or am I just getting older and see those films with a nostalgic eye?

p.s. I know a lot of people think anchorman is a classic but I thought it was pretty stupid. Old School made me chuckle a few times. But I couldn't name two scenes from it if you put a gun to my head.

Let me get this straight: You're asking for another Dumber and Dumberester but you think Iron Man lacked?

Well yeah. Haha. But remember, I don't like comic book movies. I do like to laugh though.

And yes, Batutta, I agree. There seems to be less and less of those every year.

There seems to be a whole language of cinematic comedy that's been forgotten. Today it's all verbal (and mostly vulgar) humor. People forget that the way a shot is composed can be funny. The way a scene is cut can be funny. If you watch a classic Peter Sellers comedy like The Party it's practically a silent movie. The only filmmakers who still kind of get it are the Coens.
