What effect do I use to key out white or black?

So let's say I wanted to key out the white in this image, is there a way to do this in premiere? I've experimented a little with green screen but the chroma key function doesn't seem to work too swell.

So just to be clear, on an image like this, I want it to be transparent and have only the black come through. (I'm working on an animated logo for my film company.)

You need to create a matte. Check out the Adobe Forum. Register and search
around or ask questions.

Use the color key or go into photoshop, cut the white out using the magic wand tool and import the PSD document and use that

If you're just talking about that still image then you wouldn't use Premier. Use Photoshop and just use the select tool to cut all the black.

Then File/New - size as per clipboard - transparent background - paste.

Save as a PNG.

if you need to do a live shot of something else coming from a black line or from the white area you can do easily a Black Screen or a White screen I did that for this music video:

yep. luma key would be very very easy and should work beautifully.
